I chose to be photographed on the (Henry Woodward) Sackett Bridge that goes over Fall Creek and is part of the trail that goes around Beebe Lake. From my perspective, the bridge is a unique place. It is historical and I appreciate landmarks that are named in honor of specific individuals (he was a 1875 Cornell graduate). It is a connector. I have always been enthralled by arches. It is interesting architecturally. I can see the bridge from my backyard. It is associated with Cornell but enjoyed by the broader community and is part of the Forest Home hamlet. I think about the individuals that have traversed this bridge from all over the country and the world. It inspires me that in my own backyard, so to speak, there are people from all over the globe that have been on the bridge. I reflect on the thousands of happy moments that the bridge has witnessed from friends walking together and sharing what friends share, philosophical discussions, marriage proposals, couples expressing love, folks walking their beloved dogs, prayers of grace, etc. While I know that the bridge has witnessed sad moments, I have chosen to focus on the happy and uplifting moments.
