“Ulysses Square is a private space offered by its owner, Judy Cone, for a charitable purpose. The volunteers from the Trumansburg Area Christmas Bureau consider this our "pop up Santa's workshop" to carry on a tradition of neighbors helping neighbors since 1948. We have had many homes: the Masonic Temple, the basement of the Ulysses Historical Society, the Trumansburg Golf Course clubhouse and Ulysses Square. On Saturday Dec. 11th community members will drop off wrapped gifts for each of the 127 children we'll help this year. We will organize them by family and on Dec. 18th we will deliver them to parents and caregivers who will drive up and have our "elves" from the Christmas Bureau, the Lions Club and Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services deliver 5 bags of groceries and gifts for each child to cars that will form a "drive through" loop in the parking lot of Ulysses Square. The spirit of giving is alive in Trumansburg and this space represents the best of our community, where neighbors help neighbors and joy is shared.”
