“Our running group has always stopped at the Newman Overlook within the Cornell Arboretum whether we are on a run, brisk walk, or snowy slog. The vantage allows us to see birds skimming above the tree canopy, the changing seasons, and the distant campus buildings that rise and fall (in the case of the old water tower). Invariably one of us will take a deep calming breath and say, "we get to live here." It's a place for pictures, laughs, and sharing burdens. The pause at the Newman Overlook is our place to re-group and take a moment to appreciate each other and the place that we live.”
