“Six years ago, we purchased a vacant farm lot and converted it into an oasis for living and connection. We built a home full of light and vistas that feels like we are living outdoors. On it, we planted trees of all kinds to grow old with. We are raising our daughter where she can run around in fresh air and enjoy outdoor play-dates at a time when many folks are stuck indoors and isolated. We felt more connected than ever to our neighbors as each family took turns making themed-meals each week for the entire neighborhood. We feel blessed to be here through more than a year of virtual school and daylong Zoom meetings from home.”
